Shifting of Benchmark to ALTS
An activity was done under the extreme guidance of Mr. M.Amarnath, Incharge of Surveying under R&D cell. The bench mark has been shifted to college from JANGALA PALLI Railway station.
Surveying :
- We started our surveying from JANGALA PALLI railway track and the benchmark fixed there is 368.02m from mean sea level.
- We set the dumpy level on the side of a road and placed leveling staff near benchmark. took back site and leveling staff was fixed at other point and took fore site
- From this we calculated height of instrument = reduced level + back site Reduced level at the level staff = height of instrument -fore site
- The dumpy level is shifted to other station. Like this we calculated reduced levels from a station.
- We found benchmark from mean sea level as 365.84m at boys hostel
In this activity 55 numbers of students are involved and have taken duration of one day for completing it. This activity is planned by Mr. K. Muralidhar, Chief Coordinator, Research and Development cell, ALTS.
