The Skill development department is planned and formed in Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences exclusively for the first of its kind in engineering colleges. ALTS Skill development department is planned and formed to fulfil the growing need in India for skilled manpower across various sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills.

The ALTS Skill development department is headed by Dr. M.Surendra Naidu, having 15 years of an industry experience and now working as Director - Skill Development and Placements at ALTS

The ALTS Skill development department is responsible for co-ordination of all skill development efforts over the institution, removal of disconnection between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the soft skills and technical skills, skill-up gradation, building of new skills and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also jobs that are to be created

“A country’s ability and potential for growth is determined by the size of its youth population. Youth today need to be harnessed, motivated, skilled and streamlined to bring rapid progress for a country”.

Objectives:

• Make a normal student into an Industry Ready Candidate.
• To make the students to develop their skills, build their Inter personal skills get exposed to the current world scenarios and move forward and compete with the world.
• To address the challenge of imparting the skills required by the growing economy.

Why it’s important for Engineering Students?

India is giving birth to millions of engineers every year out of only 20% of them taste employment. According to a survey, only 25% of Indian workforces have undergone a skill development program, which is a matter of concern.

Investors should understand the fact despite good literacy rate, still, there are numerous people who lack job opportunities.
