NSS Activities

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community (esp. Villages) linkage

J.N.T.U.A has sanctioned NSS (National Service Scheme) unit to ALTS. ALTS have a very active and committed NSS unit headed by S.khaleel Basha, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Social and moral values are those which keep an individual and The Nation in the forefront of development. With this belief and faith in The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", we as a team of ALTS strive hard to reach the goals and objectives of NSS.

The welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole and therefore, the ALTS NSS volunteers shall strive hard for the well-being of the society.

The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are:

• Understand the community in which they work
• Understand themselves in relation to their community
• Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
• Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
• Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
• Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
• Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
• Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
• Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
• Practice national integration and social harmony
• To bridge the gap between the educated and the uneducated masses
• To gain skills in program development for self-employment

NSS in ALTS

In Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology & Sciences NSS unit established in the year of 2010 with service oriented motto. Now Mr.S.Khaleel Basha , Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mechanical is the Program Officer for NSS Unit.
