The Department of ECE was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students and was extended to 180 students in the year 2012. The department is also offering PG course with VLSI System Design as specialization from the year 2012 with an intake of 24. The following are the assets of the department.

Laboratories :

EDC Laboratory :

This laboratory is the basic laboratory for all ECE students. They can learn the alphabets of electronics in this laboratory. This lab gives an opportunity for the students to know the properties of various components like diodes and transistors verify them practically and can observe the deviations between theoretical and practical values. the students can also verify practically some simple circuits designed using the simple components.


ECA Laboratory :

This lab gives an opportunity for the students to analyze some of the complex circuits such as amplifiers, oscillators and compare the obtained results with the theoretically designed values. Before verifying the circuits through hardware the students can be able to the check the operation of the circuits virtually by using some simulation softwares such as MultiSim/B2SPICE.


PDC Laboratory :

In this laboratory the students can check practically the operations of non-linear circuits like clippers, clamplers. Also they can verify the switching characteristics of some basic components like diodes and transistors experimentally. The students may also design some switching circuits like mono-stable, astable & bistable multivibrators and can verify them experimentally.


AC & DC Laboratory :

This lab is the basic lab for communication engineering. The students after learning all the theoretical concepts regarding the electronic communication, they can modulate different base signals (which may be an analog or digital signal) with a high frequency carrier using different modulation schemes and demodulate them to obtain the original base signals.


Microprocessor Laboratory :

This laboratory provides an opportunity to the students to learn machine level programming and design coding for some simple problems using 8086 microprocessor. The students may also be able to control some interfacing devices such as stepper motor, ADC, Traffic light controls etc by programming using 8086 microprocessor and 8051 microcontroller.


Microwave & Optical Communications Laboratory :

This laboratory deals with high frequency applications. This lab provides an opportunity to verify properties and operation of some high frequency components and also some of the high frequency sources like Klystron & GUNN diode. In this laboratory, the parameters of various optical communication links can also be verified experimentally.


BS Laboratory :

In this laboratory the students can have a hand-on experience in generating the basic signals and some basic and advanced circuits using software such as matlab.


LDICA Laboratory :

In this laboratory the students will be introduced to IC technology and can practically verify some simple circuits using various ICs.


VLSI Laboratory :

This lab is especially used for post graduate students where they can design some simple circuits and verify them through simulation software. The designed circuits can be synthesized on FPGA kits and can verify the results.



The Department of ECE is very much enthusiastic in personal development of student. As a part of it, the department is regularly conducting various events for the development of students, faculty, department and college as well.
